triangulating Cultural Heritage, Diversity and Art

Harmony Day (21 March) celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. By building an art work pieced together by every member of the school, we hope to celebrate our diversity and connectedness. Using equilateral triangles, 5/6M create a design, drawing or painting that expresses an art pattern from their cultural heritage. Below are some inspirational artworks and art patterns from around the world, but please stay tuned to see what 5/6M uniquely design.
China
Ireland
And this is what the students at Fort Street produced! Amazing!

I really like your fusion and combination of your cultural heritage, Ava. It inspired many in the class to look at the many cultures that we are influenced by.

The Colombian patterns that you can draw from were very interesting, and the colours were very beautiful as well. I look forward to seeing your final art work.

My triangle had the contents of the Korean flag with a phoenix at the bottom. The reason I chose the phoenix is because the phoenix was the korean national animal and represented how the phoenix never died and that means we should never give up!!
