2017 Film Club News
Quiet on set! Lights! Camera rolling! Action!
Hi, Seth here, and I’m the screenplay writer of the short film, “THE DAY THE PENCILS QUIT”. What this means is that I wrote the script that the actors followed. I, and the rest of Film Club have really enjoyed being a part of this film that has made it as far as the Films by the Sea competition held yearly. I think I speak for the whole film club crew when I completely recommend Film Club to everyone moving to either year five or six next year! And cut!

Film Club has been an AMAZING learning experience filled with fun, new ideas and a great area to practice your knack for film. In Film Club we storyboarded, chose ideas, scripted, filmed, directed and acted. We all had our own important roles. Mine was to Write the script, Co-direct with Angelina, compose the bloopers and develop a deleted scenes reel. As you can tell, this wasn’t easy but still one of the best terms of my life!

Where the Wild Things Aren’t, by Kamran and Joe
“Alright, so after you’ve ran over there, look up at the buildings. Okay… 3, 2, 1… action”. If you don’t know who I am, i’m Kamran. I was one of the creators of the short film called “Where the wild things aren’t”. It’s about a fox who wants to explore the extraordinary city of Sydney. It is based on the book called “Where the wild thing are”, and Fantastic Mr. Fox. Film club have enjoyed this film and since it was so good we managed to get it into “Film by the sea” along with our other short film “The day the pencils quit”. The film by the sea competition is held yearly and it is a competition where lots of other films from other schools compete to win the “Best film” & “Donated and paid for scholarship” for film schools. Film club is very fun and is run by Mr. Mc and Ms Gallego. I absolutely recommend it for Year 5 & 6.

“Okay, great acting! That was a great shot!”

The Day the Pencils Quit, by Angelina and Seth

We need a break!!! The Day The Pencils Quit is a film based on the children's fictional picture book “The Day The Crayons Quit". My name is Angelina and I was one of the creators/directors of this short film. Film club worked extremely hard all three terms to create the film “The Day The Pencils Quit” and “Where the wild things aren’t” made by Joe Young and Kamran Qureashi.
