Icebreaker Speech
Goals: To speak 2-4 minutes about yourself to the class and break the “ice” by sharing some things about you, your hobbies, likes, favourite stuff and past-time etc.. Also include your family and where they are from etc.. Use Google Slides and feel free to bring props or anything to adds pizzaz (showmanship) to your speech.
The Ice Breaker  speech has three aims:
  1. Introduce yourself, your family and likes
  2. Learn more about your classmates--your learning team
  3. Further conquer the fear of speaking in front of a group.
  4. Provide a “2017 baseline” of your current strengths and weaknesses.
Some students have little public speaking experience, while others have years of presentations behind them. No matter where you fit into this spectrum, your goal is to improve from your starting point. This first speech helps you gauge your current strengths so that we can make specific recommendations to help you improve.
