Meeting Matt Stanton, by Angelina
That thing….in the store room…...clean it up, NOW!
On Wednesday the 17th of May Fort Street public Schools Young Writers Group went to the Sydney writers festival and meet several authors there. Including Matt Stanton, he inspired us to write things that are funny and enjoyable. He told us to never give up. Matt Stanton has written well-known books including ‘There Is A Monster Under My Bed Who Farts’, ‘This Is Ball’ and his latest book ‘Funny kid For President’.

We also met three other authors, Lauren Child, Jack Heath and Kate DiCamillo.
All of these authors inspired us and taught us incredible pearl of wisdoms that we loved.
Matt Stanton was really interesting and humorous.Oh and also……….YOU FORGOT TO CLEAN THAT THING IN THE STORE ROOM.

Meeting Kate Dicamillo by Nicole
If you think getting rejected once is bad guess what, Kate Dicamillo got rejected 473 times.
At the Young Writers Festival, we met an author named Kate Dicamillo, she suffered a lot of disease till she moved to Florida when she is about 20 years old. She came from Philadelphia, move to Florida in a Citrus Field and now lives in Minnesota. Kate liked to read since she is eight, this is how she became a writer. This girl who love to eat but hate to cook gets ideas from Listening, looking and imagining. Stories are everywhere, all you have to do is pay attention.

Meeting Jack Heath, by Kamran and Kenzo
Jack Heath is an author who lives in Australia and has a best selling of 19 books. When his first book was published--did you know that he was a teenager?! One of the most interesting things we found out about him is that whenever he read a book that he didn’t like, he always made a checklist of what he wanted in the story, and then he made a story with all of the things he wanted in it! Things that he wanted included Robots, explosions, helicopters, and more funny things. Jack Heath always makes sure to have lots of humour in his books to make everyone laugh--including you!!

Additionally, Jack Heath wrote books like: The lab, The cut out, 300 minutes of danger, SCREAM, Money run, replica and more books. All these books are action packed  & thriller science fiction books. Also the thing that makes Jack standout is that his books are all science books and have tech stuff like laser pistols, which very few authors write about. Jack also makes his books very realistic and makes you always wanting to find out what’s gonna happen next. He describes the book very well and describes it as if you are the person. Jack Heath is one of the best authors in our opinion. He is extremely funny and always leaves you on the edge of your seat trying to find out what’s going to happen next, like if someone has been kidnapped by aliens, run away or something else relating to that type of thing. Thank you for reading our report on Jack Heath.  (∩◔ ͜つ◔)⊃━☆゚.*(∩◔ ͜つ◔)⊃━☆゚. By Kenzo and Kamran
