I hope you are having a great break, Cyan. Though as top learners, you do need to keep up your skills you developed in Term 1 by completing the review projects.

Make sure you are reading and that you review your reading to build deeper understanding and give us an idea about the book you read. Success criteria below.

Also, don't forget to review your Maths work. If you have forgotten how to complete any part, highlight it, and we can review in class. Year 5, don't go any further than page 49. Year 6, don't go any further than page 68.

Hot Tip: If you are a little lost or need help in your skills, you can use Khan Academy and search for the skill that you are learning. (Thanks Seth for modelling this to me--very impressive learner!) www.khanacademy.com

Remember, we learn through understanding, repeating and applying--so review to repeat and keep it in your brain!

G’day, ni hao, konnichiwa, hola!Australia is a beautiful place full of wildlife, incredible scenery and a multicultural society. It is also a place where tourists come and have a holiday while exploring our land.Along with people who immigrate here to live. But it's not always happiness and sunshine. Most families that move here have children and lots of them are foreign people who can't speak English. Having troubles to communicate or learning a new language can be stressful especially when you're a child. Even if you can speak English you could be difficult to find friends or to for in. These type of things can cause serious anxiety and headaches with can disturb education. Little things. Big things. Anything, really. It doesn't matter just the slightest bit of attention or friendliness can turn someone's whole day around and make them feel welcome. People just need to get comfortable. No matter if it's children or adults. We have to get used to our surroundings. Nothing is all happiness and sunshine.

Neighbours. Schools. Finance.Things can also haunt adults when experiencing change. Things like money can be a real problem when moving into a new city or county. Spending it on things such as food, water, electricity and more are a few reasons why finance is such a problem. Finding neighbours or someone who can help out can also be hard especially when you need a lending hand. When you're an adult you have allot of responsibility to take care of others. But it's expectations get too high, then it can become even worse. You are expected to get event right and to be able to be a good role model. But if course they are plenty of ways to make it better such as focusing on the present and just enjoy life as it is. Problems get to everyone including adults and it can be just about any situation.

It's a place full of life. A place full of joy. And a place full of fantastic views. That's Australia. But just know that there are so many people struggling with life here in our community and that there will always be complications.learn to love and appreciate all of the things in your life because your trash can be someone else's treasure. Little things in life that you may not notice for example you're friends. Someone else in the world may not have anyone to give them company and are alone while you are here laughing and having fun.Nothing is ever happiness and sunshine's.Welcome to Australia.

An old man once told his grandson that there was a battle raging inside him, inside all of us. A terrible battle between two wolves. One wolf is bad-pride, jealousy, greed. The other wolf is good-kindness, hope, truth. The child asks ‘Who will win?’ The grandfather answers simply, ‘The one you feed.’

Two wolves is a fictional book written by Tristan Bancks. It was published on the 17th of April 2014. Tristan Bancks is also known for his ‘My Life’ book series, ‘On The Run’, ‘Mac Slater Imaginator’, ‘Super League’ and more. One late afternoon Ben silver’s parents rush home and got both Ben and his little sister Olive Bundled into the car. They say they’re going on a holiday, but are they? With them still in their school uniform they head for the highway. It felt like they were going 200 miles an hour to Ben. As they go swishing past the other cars and trees he was starting to get suspicious, so he starts to gather notes and writes them down in his notebook. Soon they arrive at an old and rusty looking cabin. With no way in they bust the door lock. Things were getting really strange now.Ben stared at his paper-Holiday. Cabin. Haircuts.Black nylon sports bag.He glanced at olive holding her stuffed bunny Bonzo by the ear and sucking her thumb.
“Strange.”He whispered to himself.Olive was extremely quiet now, she was usually very loud and talkative. He started to wonder if Olive was thinking things too.A few days past. Everything was pretty much the same, until Ben suddenly found himself running away from someone, dragging Olive behind him with the black nylon bag over his shoulder in the middle of the night with their parents miles away. They had lost their parents and now they have to survive on their own.

This is a gripping and unpredictable book that will leave you breathless until the end. I think the theme of this message is that ‘In order for others to help you, you must always tell the truth’.At first as I started this book i was convinced that it was going to be a cliche horror story but that thought started to change rapidly in the middle. Towards the end I realized that the ‘Two wolves part of the story was really just a synonym for the good and the bad. It was also surprisingly different to other books or films that I’ve read. And so as of today I declare this book by Tristan Bancks shall be read by everything single living thing on the planet.
